We are delighted to welcome our new Assistant Objects Conservator, Lydia Wood, to the ICA–Art Conservation team!
Lydia brings enthusiasm, curiosity, and a deep passion for preserving the stories embedded in objects of every kind. She obtained her Master's Degree in Cultural Materials Conservation (objects specialty) from the University of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. Originally from Michigan, Lydia comes to Cleveland from Massachusetts, where she served as the Objects Conservation Mellon Fellow at Historic New England, caring for objects across 38 historic homes throughout the region.
She loves the variety that specializing in objects conservation offers and, as an emerging conservator, looks forward to learning and growing with ICA. We’ve put her to work right away—diving into projects that support the care and longevity of the collections entrusted to us.
Outside the lab, Lydia enjoys all forms of crafting and spending time with her two dogs, Chicken and Bucket.
Please join us in giving Lydia a warm ICA welcome!
