Zoey Hasselbring
Textile Conservator
B.A., Global Liberal Studies, New York University; M.A., Fashion and Textile Studies (Conservation Concentration), Fashion Institute of Technology
Zoey joined ICA in 2025 and enjoys working with both flat and three-dimensional textiles, especially the ones that arrive bearing the marks of lives lived. She has a particular fondness for beautiful but irreversibly damaged fabrics, and the puzzle of figuring out how to keep them intact without undoing their story. Her previous experience includes work at the Textile Lab at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, a private practice in the St. Louis area, and a detour into specialty dry cleaning with J. Scheer & Co. A proud cat person, her graduate research focused on mitigating pet-related textile damage—because sometimes the greatest conservation challenge is a purring one with claws.
