Rayen Mural Installation at Mahoning Valley Historical Society

Mahoning Valley Historical Society raised the funds to treat and display the Rayen High School mural in 2016. The 65ft long mural was created in 1958-59 by the art teacher and students at the high school. It depicts events in the history of Youngstown from 1859 to 1959. The mural hung in the foyer of the auditorium and was removed when the building was demolished in the 1980’s. ICA conservators worked with Carlo Maggiora, mountmaker in Cleveland who designed and produced the stand.
