Ohio Connecting to Collections Regional Meetings

In January 2010, an IMLS-funded Connecting to Collections survey was distributed to over 800 institutions statewide responsible for preserving Ohio’s cultural heritage. This was followed by the Ohio Connecting to Collections Summit held in Dublin in May. As the project partners worked to develop an Ohio Cultural Heritage Strategic Plan, regional meetings were held around the state. The goals of the meetings were: 1) to provide the project partners with direct feedback from Ohio’s collecting institutions on future directions for preservation in the state, and 2) to offer an educational program for preservation practitioners. Working Properties of Paper and Adhesives

Mammoths and Mastodons: The Conservation of Viktor Schreckengost’s Mosaics at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

ICA Objects Conservation Assistant Anne Goodwill spoke on the history of Viktor Schreckengost’s “Mammoths and Mastodons” sculpture, which identified the Pachyderm House at the Cleveland Zoo for over 50 years.
