Obtaining an Estimate

Find out more about treating your object.

  1. Schedule an appointment with a conservator
You can meet with a conservator by calling the ICA at 216.658.8700 to schedule an appointment in advance. Consultations are subject to a $25 consultation fee.

On the first Thursday of each month, the lab offers a Free Consultation Day.  Free consultations last up to 30 minutes and you are asked to bring only one item.  Appointments are required and slots fill up quickly, so call in advance if you wish to come in a given month.

During either type of consultation, a conservator will discuss with you the condition of your piece, offer treatment options, and provide a rough estimate of prices.  You can then decide whether to leave your object at the ICA for a complete examination and cost estimate with treatment proposal.
  1. Ship your artwork to the ICA for examination
A conservator will examine your object and call you to discuss possible treatment, as above. Please contact us in advance to schedule delivery options.
  1. Send us digital images of your object via email.
A conservator will review your images and contact you to discuss possible treatment, as above.  Please keep in mind that without seeing the object in person, the conservator can only approximately determine the needs of your piece.
